A Year-Long Digital Detox

Project Description

This personal productivity project aims to reduce my digital content consumption for one year, increasing my free time for healthy face-to-face relationships, creative leisure and reading books. I will track the project time using the Toggl Track app. Holidays may exceed established limits with modesty. The reports will be published in the link on the right, and the monthly results will be in the graphs below.

Do not watch videos on this social media, with the following exceptions: children's and educational content with our kids, ambient music and content playing on YouTube, documentaries, the news, tutorials, and academic events essential to my work or writing my blog posts, my own lectures, or events in which I appeared. Each hour of video watched that does not meet the exception criteria will count as 10% less on the monthly taskbar. For example, if I break the rule by watching entertainment videos on YouTube for an hour, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.

Do not watch videos on TikTok. I rarely access this social media, and this project has no exceptions, as it is pure empty entertainment. I'm not aware of any posts in which I appear on TikTok, and I hope that never happens. Every ten minutes on TikTok will count as 10% less on the monthly taskbar. For example, if I break the rule by watching ten minutes of TikTok videos, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.

For example, if I break the rule by reading an hour more of the newspaper than allowed, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.

Description
Reduce music consumption via digital media. The exception is studying classical music and listening to ambient music (For example, leaving music playing while I cook, draw, etc.). Headphones are not allowed while doing household chores in the presence of my family or when working out at the gym. The priorities are to listen to the following styles: classical music, jazz, bossa nova, and MPB (traditional popular Brazilian music). Each hour of music listened to that does not meet the exception criteria will count as 10% less on the monthly taskbar. For example, if I break the rule by one hour, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.

Description
I deleted my personal Facebook profile a few years ago and rarely access this social media. I have an account with no posts or friends added, mainly to access work groups, such as Museologia Brasil (Brazil Museology). Facebook can be accessed for a maximum of 20 minutes per week. Every ten minutes on Facebook will count as 10% less on the monthly taskbar. For example, if I break the rule by checking this social media for ten minutes, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.

In these cases, journalists' Twitter feeds provide news in real-time. Every ten minutes on Twitter will count as 10% less on the monthly taskbar. For example, if I break the rule by checking this social media for ten minutes, I will mark the month's task completion with 90%.
