This is an English language training project structured by Ana Cecilia Rocha Veiga, professor at Federal University of Minas Gerais, (UFMG), Brazil.

Update: This project continues as a permanent education program in the English language, where the tasks not completed throughout the year 2022 will continue to be carried out. This website, however, will remain online, without updates, for educational purposes only.

Description
The use of English in Brazilian fields of humanities and applied social sciences has faced and continues to face resistance. The reasons for this go far beyond issues of language fluency, covering dilemmas associated with Eurocentrism and US influences in our culture, decolonisation of discourse, and accessibility of knowledge to the native population. Studying and understanding these issues is the goal of this phase.

Description
Most Brazilian academics from specific fields publish almost everything in Portuguese, including the author of this project. At this stage, the aim is to establish a strategic plan for academic writing, identifying opportunities that allow simultaneous publication in both languages (Portuguese and English). In addition, this project includes actions to expand the role of English in everyday activities at the university, such as teaching bilingual courses and coordinating an external project involving this language.
